I drew a lot of inspiration from developing sketches and layouts for both versions of each magazine spread.
I visualized for the first layout pitting the two types of students represented by their feathered counterparts on opposite sides of the spread. Illustrated in Photoshop and laid out in InDesign.
For the second spread, I emphasized the neurological subject of the article by illustrating the title "Larks & Owls" designed to look like a brain. My initial sketch of the Larks & Owls was redrawn in Illustrator.
